Greg Jefferys Hepatitis C blog deals with all the issues associated with hepatitis C
Here are a couple of interesting emails I have received from different folk infected with Herpes who have recently done Hepatitis C treatment with Sofosbuvir + Daclatasvir. The first one is from a guy who I sent Hep C medication to three years ago. Apart from the good news about clearing his Hep C he also mentioned that the 24 week treatment with Sofosbuvir + Daclatasvir appears to have cleared his herpes virus.
“Hi Greg.
I am the American, living in Pattaya. You helped me before. I took the 2 courses of India meds. Cured my hep c. And my herpes. Still no outbreak. 3 years. Good for me. Thanks, to you, for helping people. Much appreciated.
I recently had many health tests. 68. In pretty good shape. I do not take any meds regularly. Even my CIMT and PSA Tests were great.
I felt close to death when I arrived here, just over 3 years ago.
Thanks, again.”
Now as far as I know there has not been much work done on DAAs and Herpes, but over the years I have had a few emails from folk who have done the DAA treatment for Hep C and found that their herpes was cured as well.
It may be that clearing the Hepatitis C virus takes pressure off the immune system so that it can suppress the Herpes virus. Or it may be that the general improvement in health that usually comes with clearing Hep C allows the body to fight the Herpes virus?
I don’t know but I have had a number of emails related to this event, like this comment:
Hi GReg
I was also infected with herpes and Hep C and since my successful treatment with Epclusa, there was no outbreak of herpes (10 month). This apparence of additional benefits should be looked into.

I know some of my medical and scientific readers will immediately by outraged by this post and call for me to be pilloried for making unsubstantiated claims; however I am not making any claims, just reporting what I have been hearing because the whole DAA thing is so new.
It is interesting!!!

Thanks for sharing this FXD… Actually I have heard similar from a number of folk in this situation. It certainly sounds like a good thing
Same for me, it’s now been 4 years since an outbreak!! What a bonus!!
No personal case experience yet, but quick search suggested the opposite, see https://www.cghjournal.org/article/S1542-3565(16)30203-8/pdf
Interesting, wonder if similar makeup, viruses are usually strong buggers and around too stay, be excellent news if that is the case, even if two treatments were needed it would still be a game changer, anyway awesome news for the ones who have had long periods of no outbreaks, 🙏🙏
After my treatment with Epclusa I no longer have Herpes outbreaks. Glad to see others are experiencing the same thing!
Thanks for sharing… that is very interesting to know
